On from June 25, 2017 – September 30, 2017 is our featured summer exhibition:
Party’s On: Bowen’s Completely Incomplete History of Celebration.
As Canada celebrates its 150th year, the Bowen Island Historians are also celebrating a significant milestone of our own – 2017 marks our 50th anniversary. This year also commemorates noteworthy anniversaries for many other establishments on the Island, including the Bowen Island Fish & Wildlife Club, the Pub, and the First Credit Union. With so much of our community marking notable achievements, our summer exhibition this year serves to honour and share the histories of celebration, festivities, and entertainment on Bowen.
Come and explore the events and celebrations that have helped define Bowen’s unique culture. From Rita Greenlaw’s Halloween Haunted House, to the annual Bowfest festivities that continue to draw crowds each summer, our exhibition digs deep into Bowen’s longstanding traditions for fun. Special attractions include an ongoing Summer Video Series, photo and participation walls, and weekly tours. All ages are welcome!
