July 16th – 17th, 2016 are the dates for our special 20th anniversary People, Plants, and Places tour!
NEW- This year our tickets will be valid for both days of the tour. You can do it over one day or split it up over both days- whatever you like!
Tickets purchased online must be picked up at the Museum & Archives before you can embark on your tour. Please bring your picked-up tickets in hand for every site you visit on the tour- the tickets are required to enter. All visitors, including children, require tickets.
Tips for a Successful Tour:
This tour will take place regardless of the weather. Be prepared to drive on rural roads and walk on uneven paths. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Most sites are not accessible to strollers or wheelchairs. Pets are not allowed and should not be left in a car.
There are nine unique sites that can be visited in any order. These home and garden owner have generously volunteered a great deal of time to participate in the tour. Please respect the opening and the closing times: 10:00am to 4:00pm and pace your visit accordingly. Tickets can be used for both days.
This is a “Proceed at Your Own Pace” tour which requires your own transport. Car pools are suggested as most of these homes and gardens are in areas with limited parking.
Look for the yellow “PPP” signs which will guide you to routes, parking and particular sites. A Tour Information Centre is located at the Museum and Archives at crossroads just up the street from the ferry landing.
Public washrooms are located at the ferry landing, Crippen Park picnic grounds behind Snug Cove Village, and at The Museum and Archives. Washrooms are not available at tour sites.
